Not even berried yet

It seems that Boris took even more from Donald Trump than I first thought. The very fact that everyone knew that he could not be shamed out of office perfectly illustrates just how unsuitable he was for office, once his prime function of 'getting Brexit done' was - according to him - completed.

He never did get Brexit done. His 'oven ready deal' was just one of a never-ending stream of lies which began coming out of his mouth even before the referendum. The whole thing was based on lies and the complete absence of tangible facts. What amazed me was how half the general public swallowed them all without question, then forgave him when it was proved that they were all lies. He got away with a few big ones and never looked back.

My brother was a serial liar and con-man, so I know how these people operate. They never, ever back down and they rely on multiple second chances to survive. They obfuscate and bluster to take your mind off what they don't want you to examine, and when their ever-expanding network of complicated alibis begins to show signs of tearing apart at the seams, they turn the attention away from themselves and toward others. It is all bound to come crashing down sooner or later, though.

Believe it or not, there are some (admittedly blue-rinsed) people who still support B.J. 'Nobody could take care of the country as well as Boris', was a quote from one woman this morning. That isn't even party loyalty.

The current Conservative Party has near-fatally weakened the U.K. and finished up by turning us into the laughing-stock of the rest of the world. Hundreds of years of hard-earned respect have been squandered in just two, and it cannot be undone in my lifetime.

  1. This morning our news feeds state that BJ has resigned and will be out of office in September. With all that's going on in the world, no one country or individual out shines the other when it comes to disasters. Fear not. Look further than DT or VP and more...

  2. All the political drama over on this side of the pond is fucking exhausting. I'm sick of it and of all the politicians. You probably feel the same. It's been a rough few years for us all, hasn't it?

  3. I couldn't believe it when I learnt that he intends to stay with us until September!!! I really do hope that they clamp down on him and prevent him from doing so.

    1. I don't like Dominic Cummings but I believe him when he says that if he is allowed to stay in Downing Street until September he will just treat it as yet more breathing-space. Oh, and well spotted with the spelling. I can't get anything past you, can I?

    2. Well spotted? It was glaring but I thought it was a pun you were aiming at. Like a berry pie of mush or something. Anyway, no need to feel that we are a laughing stock, there's plenty more around the world, including Uncle Joe, and plenty of bad decision in Europe. If anyone is a laughing stock right now it is Boris Johnson himself, not the rest of us. He let us down.

    3. Oh Christ, not you too. Do you not understand that the above is a screen-shot image of my brother's last dim-witted friend's phone when she was trying to find a surviving relative after he dropped dead? What is the matter with you lot? Use your brains.

    4. I didn't look at the screen shot let alone read it. I assumed it ws some half look at Boris or something. I have read it now. Sorry. I just scanned the post after reading the heading.

    6. If you want to make astute comments such as the ones above, just read the whole post before you cast your pearls of wisdom. And don't talk to me like that if you don't want me to reply in a similar vein. I will not make allowances for your state of mind in the future, as I have for years now. Don't bother to leave comments if you only scan.

    7. Who expected your brother to make a significant appearance today? Well I didn't. I thought it was just the de rigueur photo that has to go with your posts. You might as well rename your blog with your real name.

  5. I'm with Dominic, BJ is hoping we will forget by September that he has to leave. Sack him now and then perhaps all the other problems will be addressed.

  7. The word "honour" still exists in many languages, I looked it up. Some have none, it seems, their ego clings unashamed. Why are so many people in the world choosing flimsy soap opera would-be stars as politicians ?

  8. You are right Tom, I was married to a man similar , never back down, never admit he’s wrong

  9. Well, at least his cabinet stood up to him. tRUMP doesn't even hold office and he's got politicians vying to be first in line to kiss his behind. I'm sorry to say that really, as far as laughingstocks go, we've taken first place there, and I don't think the USA will give up that position in the foreseeable future.

  10. The most sad, I think, how precarious is your country's position since you left the union (Union?), and he and his ministers compounded it rather than presenting and making basic solutions to trade, to food supplies, to anything you lost. Just huffing and bluster.

  11. Finally though I reckon that if none of the other arsehats who have been in Downing St in the past 40 years haven't destroyed the UK's rep, BJ hasn't. Brexit, maybe, has certainly not helped. but unless you know something we don't about your tenure, if the right person comes long it will get sorted. Wheter there is anyone worthy of hte role, as I am sure that both Hugh Grant and Paddington Bear have declined...time to talk to Stephen Fry. he has PM written all over him.

    1. You joke, but even Stephen Fry would make a better job of it. The president of Ukraine used to be a TV comedian.

  12. Well, at least he did not invoke the masses to storm parliament as per Trump.I feel that he never came out of his serious bout of Covid completely and lost his power to operate effectively. (To be charitable...)

But he needs to be out of his post NOW not wait around. At present we don't have any effective government.

    1. Cummings is correct in his statement that BJ will use whatever time is left behind the door to see if he can weather out the storm. There is plenty more potential for further damage to the country.
