There's another new telescope. This one detects when two huge, dead suns collide together somewhere out there, producing material which is so dense that one teaspoonful of it would weigh 4,000,000,000 tons. That's four billion tons. One teaspoonful.
These facts that I am compelled to accept for want of an appropriate education just wash over me at the moment. One eyebrow raises almost imperceptibly when I hear them.
So heavy you can only raise an eyebrow imperceptibly!
ReplyDeleteAnd that weight would go straight to my hips.
ReplyDeleteFour billion tons. Hardly noticeable.
DeleteEXACTLY!!!!
DeleteCosmic weights and measures make us all insignificant.
ReplyDeleteTelephone numbers.
DeleteBut it is awe-inspiring just to think about them. Did I hear on the radio yesterday that there were baby universes at the beginning of time?
ReplyDeleteYou might have done. It's all got to start somewhere.
DeleteI commented last night in the first place, but it's not there. Check your spam for me.
ReplyDeleteI believe I said it this way: 4 billion tons and only an eyebrow bends.
But it was funny last night. Well, I was really tired, too.
It's quite funny today too. I'll check spam.
