There is hope for Melton Mowbray

I am trying (and failing) not to comment on what is happening between Boris Johnson and Donald Trump at Biarritz today, for fear of the Lenny Bruce effect. Lenny Bruce was seriously funny right up until he lost his sense of humour. I am using the word 'seriously' literally.

Trump says  he is going to make a terrific deal with the U.K. after we leave the E.U. The biggest deal ever between the USA and G.B. The terrible thing is that I believe him.

Boris says that he is not going to sign anything until Trump agrees to import more British pork pies. He drives a hard bargain.

It would be funny if it were not for the Lenny Bruce effect.

  1. Oh Tom, there is nothing funny about British or American politics at the moment. Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dee are running/failing their countries.
