It's dirty work but someone has to do it

The above photo is of Hilary Clinton and Barak Obama watching the killing of Osama bin Laden live as it happened, from a link to a head-cam worn by one of the special force marines who carried out the raid. Apparently it was very shocking and messy.

President Trump refuses to listen to the recording of Khashoggi being tortured and killed in the Saudi embassy because it might upset him.

I avoid seeing or listening to violent stuff on You Tube or elsewhere too, but I am not the leader of the most powerful country in the world.

  2. I try to avoid seeing or listening to violent stuff too ... I know it exists, I keep up with current news but I don't search out violence and misery ..... thats why I loved that film Hugo and, we watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them the other day ..... a couple of hours of escapism without having to use my brain too much !!!
Also, I too am not a leader of a powerful country so it's OK ! XXXX

    1. He's got his fingers in his ears and he is worried about upsetting the Saudi Royal family. The CIA has said that the order originated from as high up as you can go, but trump is still holding back from confronting the prince. Money.

    2. You are absolutely right,Tom. He has blood on his hands and is too cowardly to take a look.

    3. I don't think he can be blamed for the embassy incident, but he seems to be putting his head in the sand about it.

  4. I just deleted a comment which was an advert for a Saudi cleaning and pest control company called Nafal Afsh. I'm sorry, I don't allow advertising on this blog, but your personal or corporate comments are always welcome.

  5. Trump has done everything he can to go easy on the Saudi Crown prince. It's always about money with him. I am not surprised he wouldn't listen to the tape because if he did he might actually have to address torture and murder. It's all so depraved.

    1. Well he said it had been described to him and his advisors said he need not look at it if he didn't want to, so I am guessing that he didn't want to.

  6. By accident, I once suddenly came across a very short video of a beheading. I really wish I hadn't.

  7. Seeing the film did not help Clinton or Obama to be better people. It did nothing for the world. More wars started and perhaps Hillary Clinton became more of a warmonger than she would have been if she hadn't seen the film. As for the killing of the man in the Istanbul embassy, Erdogan was rubbing his hands with so much glee and has capitalised on it I wonder if he had a hand in it, so much is he wanting to be the ruler of the whole of the Middle East.

    1. Nobody is suggesting that Clinton or Obama became better people for watching the raid on Bin Laden's Pakistani hideout, and I don't see how anyone can jump to the conclusion that watching the graphic consequences of an order you have given out to assassinate the worst terrorist the world has ever seen will turn you into a warmonger. Usually when ordinary people watch scenes of violence it tends to turn them off further violence. For Clinton and Obama to watch the live event was duty, not morbidity. Of course Erdogan milked it for all it was worth, but he came up with irrefutable evidence which could not be ignored.

    2. I wouldn't trust Erdogan as far as I could throw him.

    3. Neither would I but he came up with a very useful bit of intelligence which even the CIA could not ignore.

  8. I don’t necessarily believe that trump didn’t listen to the tape. He lies about EVERYTHING.
