My temporary workshop is a large converted steel shipping container which is lined with more steel. It has no windows. It is situated to take the full sunshine from morning until sundown. Yesterday it was 30 degrees Celsius (86 F).
I had to regularly leave it and go outside to cool down. It was cooler out than in. It was like trying to work in a slow-cook oven. It is set to stay this temperature for the rest of the week.
I should be done to a turn by Friday.
You should have started work about 5 hours ago.
ReplyDeleteNo chance.
DeleteIt's about the same temp' here. I even had a morning swim.
ReplyDeleteMake the of it. Rain next week.

DeleteWhat a horrible work environment. You'll be glad when this project is all done, I"m sure. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteYes I will.
DeleteThat is terrible.
ReplyDeleteIt could be worse. It is freezing in Winter.
DeleteI was just thinking that. I hope your done before then.
DeleteI would love a bit of crackling come Friday!

If not for the precarious pay grade of working artists, I'd recommend a strike. As an alternative, I'll close my eyes and visualize the trolls who trashed the woodland shop stepping off the curb and being hit by a bus.
ReplyDeleteThe mere mention of any sort of troll-like behaviour seems to attract boring attacks right now.
DeleteJoanne...dearheart xx forget the trolls ...
DeleteJohn. Why do you tolerate that ghastly woman Ursula? Because she has mental issues you think you can help with?
DeleteP.S. I don't adjust the clock on this blog because it annoys people who find it inexplicable. That's the reason.
DeleteThat's retaliation, not a random attack. Bye.
DeleteJust had a thought... the trolls get more response than us mere mortals. My advice is don’t rise to their bait, you are feeding their addiction...

I normally delete immediately, but I wanted to let her know why again.
DeleteSeems to me you will be done to a turn by then. Thunder downpours are forecast for the weekend. I dare you to strip off and run outside if one hits your neck of the woods. I am sure you will feel like doing it - well take the bull by the horns and do it. (a selfie would then be a treat)!
ReplyDeleteI see the hot weather is getting to you too, Weave.
DeleteThank you for including the temperature in Fahrenheit, it saved me having to Google it. I'm not sure why Americans aren't taught the metric system like the rest of the civilized world!
ReplyDeleteWorking in a steel shipping container in the summer sounds like pure hell. I do hope you're being very well paid in return.
Not enough, of course.
DeleteDo a night shift. Much cooler
ReplyDeleteI am pleased to say that I would not be allowed to work there at night.
DeleteOh gawd .... that must be unbearable ..... how on earth can you work in there .... it’s as bad as sending children up chimneys !!! XXXX
ReplyDeleteI'm exaggerating.
DeleteThat's almost wartime with the cattle carts of nazi germany
ReplyDeleteMine is more cosy. More personalised.
DeleteJust looking at the container makes me sweat. The walls must be hot at the touch too! But the sky is beautiful. I wish you to finish this work long before the summer is over.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Maria x
That isn't my container, Maria, but mine is similar. I want to finish in around two weeks, by which time it will be cool again I bet.
