1001

Today is a bit of a series of milestones which have - due to some planetary alignments somewhere over Glastonbury - all fallen on the same day.

This is my 1000th post; today I will complete the pear-tree carving that I have been boring you about for some of those posts; and...  it's my birthday!

I cannot believe that I have been scribbling this stuff a thousand times - it's a bit like monkeys, typewriters and Tolstoy really - if I had only just re-arranged all those words in a slightly different order, I could have made something as long as 'War and Peace', but a little better written.  I'll have to try harder.  The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog - if only I only wrote that all the time, I would not have to give special attention when cleaning certain letters on the keyboard of this machine.

The completion of the pears means that I cannot spend as long as usual on a post this morning, which is a shame really.  I thought today was all about ME, but I have other commitments.  Here's to the next 1000.

Thanks again to whoever I ripped the above image off from.  I am trying to illicit an abstract sense of affection from all 91 of you - again.

....and, what a milestone .... 1,000 posts is HUGE ! Shame that you have to go to work but wishing you a great day with lots of presents of candlesticks and glasses and much food and drink.
.....and, thanks for all of the laughs that you've given us over the last 1,000 posts.
Make sure that you celebrate disgracefully.

In a somewhat unreal kind of way, it's lovely to have "friendships" here in the blogosphere and I consider you to be my friend

  17. Happy Birthday! I hope that, once the work for the day is done, you have a party that is so good that you won't remember the half of it the next morning.

I have once sent the blog photo that you used today to my family. They could not decide whether it is a mouse or a polar bear. They settled on polar bear. Jeeeeeez! (I may be the one with the brains in the family.)
