Here it is - what do you reckon? Worth the wait? Worth the search? I met Lisa Burrows (the hatter from Taunton) yesterday, and she had brought with her not only this hat, but another in the same style made from a type of tweed which is produced in Wellington, Somerset, a few miles away from where she lives and works. I didn't know that Somerset made anything other than cheese, so I am very happy to 'test-run' it as she asked me to. She arrived with her boyfriend who - coincidentally - has the same, unusual last name as me (not 'Stephenson'). Also coincidentally, he ran into a musician friend of mine for whom he had set up sound (or recording) for, being a musician and technician himself.Lisa normally specialises in women's head-wear, but I think she may now start a range of hats for men as a result of this request from me. I hope so. I told her about the forum I came upon when searching for it off the web-peg, and on it, people are discussing how to get hold of a hat like Rathebone's, and how impossible it seems to be. Someone found (as I did) a similar one from Bates and Co of London, but this has been discontinued for reasons only known to Bates.
