Wound-licking

I have not been listening to the Conservative's Party conference much (or Labour's) but I continue to be impressed by Liz Truss's astounding lack of contrition and thick-skinned insistence that she should have been left to do billions of pounds worth of  more damage to the economy just to prove a point.  She is not licking her wounds.

I worked in Salzburg about thirty years ago so it is no surprise to me that Austria is having a lot of success with far-right politicians. Ordinary citizens will shout at you for parking on double yellows, even at 2.00am in a vast, empty square.

    1. Well, no matter what you believe, we are all worse off for her brief period of rule.

  2. Some think she was badly treated.

  3. She is a living example of why one should not give authority to someone who is an idiot and so selfish that she was quite happy to bring this country to its knees.

    1. She is possibly the most stupid politician of the 21st century. Some even more stupid people will dispute this.

  4. Many economists who condemned her are now revisiting what they said and revising their verdict that actually it was not so bad. She was certainly not an idiot. She was badly treated by her own Party. A certain element of people of West Norfolk treated her very badly at the election and she narrowly lost her seat.
My experience of car haters in empty squares is that they are usually lefties who want to make everything into a car free zone.

    1. No, you are completely wrong about everything you say here. I am not saying this as some sort of knee-jerk reaction toward your comments, it is just a fact.

  5. The Queen's last PM. Which was far more to the credit of the Queen than that PM.
