The White Hart

On this site opposite the Roman Baths stood the largest coaching inn in Bath, called The White Hart. After the hotel's demolition, the sculpture of a white hart was taken from here to Widcombe and now stands over the entrance to the White Hart pub.

That hotel must have been been grand indeed.

  1. I like the sign. Have you been to the pub?

    1. It's a life-sized deer but probably dwarfed by the original inn.

  3. I like to think of Mary Shelley going in for a drink.

  4. Ah memories Tom - how I would love to be in The White Hart in Lincoln - my favourite hotel in my home city.. They do fantastic cocktails in their cocktail bar. For the full pleasure you need a bedroom with a view of the cathedral just round the corner.
