I remember doing over 100mph on the Boscombe bypass in a Jag. I think it had a strap on it's bonnet to hold it down. What Type it was I don't remember. 700 moons ago.
Let me try again. When you want to italicize a word or phrase, you use these brackets < >. In between them, put an i. At the end of the phrase you will use the same brackets, but in between them put an /i.
You are using the brackets? and an i (for italic?) and the a / and another i at the end of the phrase in the same brackets? I guess you're not ready for the next trick. If you use those brackets and put a b between them and a / followed by another b, you get bold print.
A friend had a Jag Xke and he built a home with a grease pit in the garage so he could personally keep it running in top condition. Lovely high performance cars.
Sounds as though you were quite a 'lad' in your youth - I have a feeling that there is still a lot of 'lad' left in you.
ReplyDeleteNot racey, just reckless. I can't find the lad.
DeleteThe E-type is a classy car, lovely colour.
ReplyDeleteI notice the very thin wheels these days.
DeleteAlways wanted an E-type but had to come to terms with an Austin Healey Sprite.
ReplyDeleteA Sprite isn't bad.

ReplyDeleteI used to do 100 every day on myTriumph. It became a tradition. Over the Hog's Back, if you know that.
DeleteVery well. I was usually car sick by then when going on family hols. from Reigate to the West Country.
DeleteThink of the insurance.
ReplyDeleteThink of the purchase cost.
DeleteI see a Dinky Toy out of its box. The photo helps this view for me.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he should build a replica box for it.
DeleteI am enjoying The Diplomat. In fact I love it.
ReplyDeleteIt gets to you.
DeleteGads. You must have given your mother fits!
ReplyDeleteShe did worry a bit - especially when I was brought back after a dramatic crash once. No serious injury.
DeleteP.S. I am impressed that you found italics for comments. Where are they?

DeleteCant wait to try that!
DeleteWas it thrilling?
DeleteYes! I'm now trying it on my phone. Thanks Debby {and TS for hosting this}
DeleteOk, I will give it a .
DeleteNo, that didn't work. again.
DeleteI'm obviously doing something wrong - all it does is delete the word for me. I give up and will go back to shouting in capitals.

ReplyDeleteI used to borrow a friend's X-Type once. Terribly unstable but quite fun to drive.
DeleteLovely car to look at. Probably to drive, too.
ReplyDeleteYes. The last days of elegant cars.
DeleteFast Triumph bike versus a sporty Jaguar - it has the elements for a "do and die" detetive story!
ReplyDeleteNo 'or' available?
Deletee types should always be red.
