Haven't seen a banjo this big since Woodie Guthrie's famed fascist killing banjo that also had five strings. This is a figuratively speaking. We have Pete Seeger to thank for the revival of the five string instrument and continued interest in its very long history. This instrument seems to have just four strings.
And bigger and he wouldn't get it into the hall unless he stood sideways.
ReplyDeleteHe's sideways as it is!
DeleteYou wouldn't play that one easily standing!!
ReplyDeleteIt is mounted on a stand on stage and he walks up behind it. No chance of a strap!
DeleteJust seen a photo...1920s? of a Gibson Bass Banjo... impressive!!
DeleteJust been listening to some banjo playing. He can always sit and play that way.
ReplyDeleteI want one.
ReplyDeleteBig boy. Not many of them around.
ReplyDeleteThat is one giant banjo. Strolling banjo players would require a float the likes of a parade float.
