Thought for the day

When you find yourself at a cross-road, unsure of which way to turn; when your friends and colleagues are unable to give you sound advice on a difficult moral dilemma; when your whole way of life is under threat due to a series of misjudgements made through the mistaken belief that there is, in some way, something special about you which sets you apart from your fellow peers; when you have turned your back on the suffering of others and cannot find it in your heart to give a sincere and unconditional apology to those you have wronged, ask yourself:

What would Boris do?

  1. There will always be that certain element among us. They emerge, do their damage, slither away under a rock and reemerge another day.

    1. This one doesn't even bother to hide under a rock.

  2. Create an alternate version of the truth, natch!

    1. Multiple versions, according to emerging evidence. I think that the police have a policy to leak the information day by day, so that he keeps having to change his story - or get others to change it for him.

  3. He just romps along happily in his own world. Once they give him the boot, he will be off with a tidy sum under his belt and not a care in the world. There is no penalty for lying these days.

    1. And he has had plenty of practice

    2. He denies that he lies, but that is what liars do. Worse, he gets the support of others to justify his lies, but support will run out soon. The very fate of the Conservative party is in doubt because of him and the people who are close to him.

    1. Once a knob, always a knob. Same goes for liars. Getting people to understand that is surprisingly difficult.

  5. Debby hit the nail. We are so used to alternate "truths" over here.

    1. Getting people to swallow huge lies is an old National Socialist trick. It is unbelievably easy.

    2. On a grander scale, look at Putin.

  6. I do not want to write two political posts in a row, so I will say what I think on this one.

Priti Patel has created a great Catch 22 situation by planning to deport 'illegal immigrants' to Rwanda for the 'processing' of their applications. This applies to single men who cannot get their applications processed in Britain without first becoming an illegal immigrant. This new punishment will apply to all countries of origin, including Afghanistan and Ukraine. It will be a one-way ticket to a country not known for its human rights.

This new policy has been deliberately leaked whilst Parliament is in recess to avoid scrutiny by elected members.

I despise this government more and more each day they remain in power.

    1. I don't care if the Conservatives run themselves into the ground, but I do care if they take the rest of us with them.

    2. Sod it. I am doing a new post.

    3. The situation warrants it, I'd say.
