I have been a bit busy recently installing these pineapples on their gateposts.
You may remember that one was missing and I had to provide a copy to replace it back in last Summer. I am now tarting up the pillars beneath them ready for the house sale.
There will be no prizes for anyone who can tell which is the new one. On the contrary, I will find a way to punish them.
I love them ….. I have a 50/50 chance of guessing which one you did ….. I think it’s the first one ?. I’m probably wrong ….. I can’t tell the difference ….. you’ve done a great job. XXXX
ReplyDeleteNope. The 2nd. You did well.
DeleteI am guessing the first one too - but how come the house is made of stone in the first picture but the second phots shows a house rendered in white?
ReplyDeleteThe white one is next door.
DeleteJust looked back at the pictures since the beginning in April last year. It has turned out brilliantly.
ReplyDeleteIt was successful, thank you.
DeleteBoth are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Yael.
DeleteI came along to say the second one. Only because the leaves on the first one appeared more rounded and worn. You did a really good job though. They are identical.
ReplyDeleteI always say to people that the texture and colouring is only a camouflage, but they always expect miracles. It is trickery really.
DeleteGreat! My educated guess would have been right, yet too late.
ReplyDeleteYou have escaped punishment thanks to the first two guesses.
DeleteI have no clue which is the new one, but I like them both. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteYou're my kind of customer.
DeleteIt must be the second one because the first one is wonky.
ReplyDeleteNot as wonky as the second one.
DeletePart pine cone as well?
ReplyDeleteAlso: Well done. I can't tell.
DeleteIndeed. A real hybrid.
DeleteNice to see the fruition of your efforts. I wouldn't even venture to guess. It is so lovely to be content with a good job, isn't it? Stay well.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice when you finish.
DeleteGood to see your work...and you have done a good match!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful! Aren't they in front of a pub?
ReplyDeleteIt used to be a pub dating from the 17th century.
DeleteVery clever work there. This is the perfect spot to thank you for your "Flambards" recommendation, too. It was great! Just finished it this week. I was hoping the intolerable Mark was going to get it in the neck but no such luck, and I'm being pestered by the jaunty theme music as soundtrack to my dreams. The liberal use of bongo drums was also a curious musical choice but alongside the whistling I guess it was budget-friendly. Did you know the actress playing Christina had never ridden a horse until a week before filming started?!
ReplyDeleteThe music is extraordinary isn't it!
DeleteNever ridden a horse? I am amazed, especially as she was riding side saddle. That is a real skill. Mark reminded me of the transformation of Michael Portillo after he lost his job. Which one is the real one? The nice one or the nasty one?
DeleteI would have guessed the second; its base is newer. But no matter; it's beautiful and it's finishing.
ReplyDeleteActually both bases are the same age.
DeleteI can not tell the difference between the two. You built a great match. The owner must be thrilled.
ReplyDeleteShe said she is, which is a relief.
DeleteNether can I tell the difference, you must be very good at ageing stone.
ReplyDeleteI have made it a speciality which - I hope - gives me an advantage over other restorers.
