Welcome, shit-storm

Boris, your time is up.

  1. 351 days in prison for having a demonstration placard in your car when stopped by the police? What kind of a world do they want? What kind of a world do you want?

  2. It is the fault of all of us sadly. We can only vote him out of office and then thoroughly clean out the tory party. Next will be the media playing around with trivia while Rome burns (and the rest of us).

    1. The media just loves this, just as the other half loved trashing Corbyn. It's a bit of a mess to say the least.

  3. When young he said he wanted to be "king of the world". He has written a book on Churchill and wanted to emulate him. He is an absolute, bumbling.lying failure, Why doesn't the Tory party kick him out?

Trouble is, who would take over. Politicians? I've shit 'em!

    1. I think the Tories would love to kick him out. He is making them unelectable. The reason I am a monarchist is that monarchs are not elected.

    2. P.S. He recently wanted to write a book on Shakespeare, but no Oxbridge don would agree to ghost-write it for him.

  4. If only...but who comes next?

  5. Whether there was a party or not doesn't really matter to most people but why are the Opposition not going deeper into why the government still fear that the NHS will collapse and nothing has been done about it when we have had a mass vaccination programme which is largely satisfactory? Sage still say that 1000 people a day could be hospitalised. Why are the Opposition not being taken seriously? Because they are worrying about a possible party at No. 10 when they should debate why we are still not on top of things with the NHS and SAGE come out with worrying figures of hospitalisations when we are vaccinated. Although I have my booster jab on 6 November I am still receiving NHS messages to say I haven't had it. This simple NHS message in itself indicates that there is something wrong and much more major than the message itself. At the moment it is a job to see how simply getting rid of Johnson is going to stop the rot in this country.

    1. To be fair to Labour, there was a shadow minister (Health?) on the radio this morning saying that he would not get involved in the stupid business of parties at No. 10 because he said it was more important to support the Tories in the fight against covid. He was - rightly - worried that too much time was being spent on this rubbish at the expense of the general good. At least he was talking the talk. You are right, though. Getting rid of Johnson is not going to solve it. That will take years.

    2. Having said that, Johnson's lot are using the crisis themselves to push things through without too much scrutiny. They are the worst government in recent history, I think. Totally without scruples.

    3. Communists, trade unions and Labour governments are at the root of the demise of Britain from which we have never recovered. Weak Conservatives have done nothing to turn the tide, it is almost impossible to see any party doing it. I don't see it getting any better with Covid fallout and environmentalists and world madness and nobody standing out who can change it. Sunak is wet behind the ears and his decision making is coming across as suspect bordering on mad and he does not appear to listen to anyone about the long term effects of his economic policies in spite of warnings. It is like just 'lets hope it might be ok'.

    4. What you say may or may not be true, but it does not detract from the main point of this simple post, which is that Boris Johnson is a dangerous and fatuous opportunist who has learned all his best tricks from watching Donald Trump woo the less savoury elements of the less-than-intelligent contingent in society who will believe anything they are told. It is a good thing he is not better at it, but it is a shame that the damage cannot be undone for years, on this or the other side of the Atlantic.

    5. He is what he is and is not good at leading or listening to anyone and yet he also seems feeble. I agree with you. He will be sidelined by his Cabinet and there will probably be more resignations.

  6. There are issues worldwide and more visible than ever before. As voters, we can bring in new leadership. A sea change is sorely needed.

  7. If I was you Tom, I'd stick to sitting on the top deck of buses and dreaming about being a bus driver.

    1. And if I were you I would stick to the sort of thing that you can cope with, like dressing up in hi-viz and standing around in the street playing with toys that the police lend you.

    2. Grown out of that now Tom, it got boring nicking 60 speeding motorists an hour and having to explain to them what a speed limit was.

  8. Because it's the misled former Labour voters that contributed greatly to the Tories' success at the last election I think the more that is made of this the better. It's something they can relate to and might bring home at last the truth that this government doesn't care a jot about them. Boris promised much and delivers nothing except to his mates and partying while the rest of us endured separation from our friends and families is something people will not forgive easily.

    1. This has been beyond party politics for a few years now.

    2. I mean, don't you miss the old Conservatives? I never thought I would look back fondly to the John Major era, but I do. There are many Russians who look back fondly on the Soviet era now that Putin and the oligarchs have got a grip on the place.
