Boris Johnson and his crew knew exactly what was going to happen not too far down the line as far as trade with Northern Ireland was concerned, but he needed an 'oven ready' deal very quickly so he could win an election. He thought he could bluster his way out of any conflict with the E.U. as and when it happened.
He has given Europe yet another way to punish the people he is supposed to be protecting. He signed up to this ridiculous situation. He is only fit for campaigning. Sausages have lost a lot of their intrinsic humour now.
I don't think that he is fit for campaigning either!
ReplyDeleteWell he seems to be bulletproof as far as the popularist electorate go, so he must be good at something. Covid has been a glorious blessing for his career.
DeleteLike many, B could be considered a Teflon politician.
ReplyDeleteHe is like my brother, who knew that the constant deception could not last forever.
DeleteAs Herr von Bismarck said, laws are like sausages. Best not to see them made.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many sausages Bismark saw made.
DeleteBrexit is only beginning to come into its own as we gradually conquer the pandemic. Johnson is a politician, he will wriggle and squirm out of any agreement. His actions though will probably lead to the break up of the Union eventually. Don't like sausages not even vegetarian ones. It will all sort itself out eventually.
ReplyDeleteBrexit was the first brick to be knocked out of the E.U. wall, which was crumbling in any case. When America became weakened, the E.U. had fewer external issues to complain about. Now they fight amongst themselves and Britain is a convenient diversion - for everyone.
DeleteYou said it right. He's a liar and a cheat, an elitist tosser who thinks he can get away with anything, signing up to a deal that he knew was not fit for purpose, just like him. Hiding behind the comic element invoked by the sausage is a serious issue.
ReplyDeleteThere will be no invisible border running down the Irish Sea - he would rather die in a ditch than endanger the Good Friday agreement... Macron and the Germans are doing just what Boris has been doing all along. Stirring up popular sentiments for the sake of their own political careers. They are all despicable. They would rather see hundreds of thousands of their own citizens impoverished rather than lose points.
