The moral maze

I despised David Starkey long before his latest attempt at gaining notoriety for himself by saying that slavery was not genocide, '...otherwise there wouldn't be so many damn blacks in Africa or Britain'.

What a cunt lovely man.

  1. No more book deals for him, at least not with Harper.

  2. What a prick. I cannot see if the angels on the painting behind him are weeping or turning away from him in disgust?

  3. Perhaps we need to burn his books.

  4. Extraordinary remark! Isn't he that Holocaust denier?
What exactly does he think happened over the last two or three hundred years?

    1. No, that was another David - Irving. He is nastier than Starkey. David Starkey is just an attention seeking fool.

    2. He was right about the genocide thing though - why destroy your own property?

  5. David Starkey? Is that Ringo's brother?

    1. No, I don't think so. He's always been obnoxious.

    2. Or were you talking about Derek?

  7. If things are so bad in this country for people of a darker complexion, it makes you wonder why boatloads of them risk drowning in the Channel every day to get here.

    1. I - and everyone else with any sense - am talking about people 'of a darker complexion' who are British citizens, in many cases third, fourth and even fifth generation who have to endure daily reminders that they are 'of a darker complexion', not people who are fleeing for their lives, risking drowning in small boats in their desperation.

I suggest if you need to know the difference between them and your fellow countrymen you should take a holiday in Syria or Iraq this year.

    2. Mmmm, a strange reply, which did little to answer my question.

    3. I really appreciate your comments here Derek. You illustrate my points far better than I ever could.

    4. Derek, I think that's because their lives are a total misery where they come from and they are sold an illusion by unscrupulous bastards who take huge amounts of money to transport them to a different kind of misery, risking their lives to get there.

    5. And that has absolutely nothing to do with brown-skinned British resident nationals. Derek hi-jacking this post is a perfect example of unconscious racism overlapping misplaced patriotism.

    6. I wondered when you'd resort to the accusation of racism, it's the normal fall back response and in my case couldn't be more wrong. I've never been racist and had several coloured people in my social circle as far back as the 1960's and have enjoyed their company ever since. Hi-jacking your blog, what a silly thing to say.

    7. I should have left it at commenting on the difference between asylum seekers and people who already live here. Actually I should have left it at thanking you for your comments. The comments were hi-jacked by proxy and I was talking about unconscious racism in general, not you in particular.

  8. Oh, I've just checked. A different fool... but a fool, nonetheless.

    1. Irving is more sinister. I am not sure if he is still alive.

  9. The man is a self important fool. I would be happy if he never showed his face again.
