I thought I would show you how the Night-Scented Stock is doing. There are still many buds about to bloom.
I was looking at it last night when I was suddenly filled with the sort of sensation I used to get when I had lit a bonfire so large that it would need the Fire Service to put it out. Sort of scary and exhilarating at the same time.
The scent sometimes has incredible power. for better and for worse.
ReplyDeleteBetter in this case, I hope.
DeleteWhat a beautiful burst of greenery you have there.
ReplyDeleteI used fertiliser for the first time. They are not organic any more.
DeleteWell, if you will investigate it at night what can you expect. It is not called that for nothing.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it fills the house in a subtle way.
DeleteIt is a lovely tangle of greenery, the scent is a bonus.
ReplyDeleteIn the dark it is the main thing.
DeleteThe packet of seeds from the garden centre was just 'bee-friendly' so when a cloud of pink, white and purple flowers the size of shirt buttons spread over the balcony I was intrigued. And local hornets are delighted!
ReplyDeleteThankyou for telling us the name.
They are also moth-friendly.
DeleteLovely. (And what a joy a bonfire is when it's going really well!)
ReplyDeleteA good, if intimidatingly large, servant.
DeleteAmazingly good result! So pretty, too!
ReplyDeleteThe lushest so far in 28 years.
DeleteIt's a pretty picture to look at, too.
ReplyDeleteThere are more flowers now.
DeleteAnd for the same thrill, you get to keep your eyebrows!
ReplyDeleteNot quite the same thrill, but I take your point.
DeleteWhat a lovely box you have
ReplyDeleteI bet you say that to all the boys.
