We once went to Grenada, specifically to visit the Alhambra. We stayed at a hotel offering spectacular views of the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountain range. This was the view from our window.
We went with Green-Eyes, who was - unknown to us - suffering from an illness which drained her ability to walk around the Alhambra in the heat. Poor girl.
Fascinating - and so full of order and zen-like peace!

DeleteWell, you were lucky the window was that big. the whole point of the walls, curtains and semi-darkness is to keep the sun out.
ReplyDeleteThe room had air conditioning.
DeleteDid likewise many years ago and had a similar view! Alhambra spectacular - loved it but not the tourist queues.
ReplyDeleteI arrived at the queue for tickets at 6.00 am, but found about 300 people had arrived earlier...
DeleteNice! What an unforgettable view you had! Haha.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have not forgotten it.
DeleteA beautiful bit of bricklaying.
ReplyDeleteNo, Tasker is right. It is a crap bit of bricklaying.
DeleteThe room might have been quieter than the ones with the view......
ReplyDeleteGive me the noise. I am used to it - or was.
DeleteCheated!
ReplyDeleteIt was a knock-down price and the breakfast was very good.
DeleteAs someone who has just done a little bit of pointing, I would say the bricklaying is not very good. You were indeed cheated.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It is a crap bit of brick-laying. Motto - never employ a Spanish bricklayer.
DeleteAdobe plasterer maybe...
DeleteYou could also come to No. Cal. for a view of the Sierra Nevadas (after the pandemic is over, of course).
ReplyDeletePanoramic or pandemic?
DeleteThat view is the stuff of nightmares. I would have refused to stay there.
ReplyDeleteMy standards are considerably lower than yours, I suspect, Cher. For instance, I have a window-box which I am not willing to share.
DeleteI remember this post. Was it long ago?
ReplyDeleteI looked up the mountain range. It is lovely.
You remember the photo with very similar wording. I think it must have been about 12 years ago.
DeleteI was last there in 1969 but I had a great room with a lovely view. We had reservations for this September but have since dropped all plans to travel.
ReplyDeleteShame. Luckily we had no plans.
