Another bronze creature - part of a set of 'woodland creatures'.
The colour of the badger cub is completely natural. I told the foundry what I wanted (I wanted 'badger') and some very clever people applied heat and chemicals in the right places to get this patina. You can get any colour you want from bronze.
A few years ago, one of the dogs found a small Badger in the woods. He wasn't the friendliest of creatures.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised.
DeleteI really like that. What were the other woodland creatures in the collection? Did you create them all? -Jenn
ReplyDeleteNo, there were three other creatures created by my erstwhile glamorous assistant, but he fucked-up on many levels, thankfully leaving me with the lion's share.
DeleteThis is beautiful! Will we see more?
ReplyDeleteThat is rather charming, I like the colouring. They used to come down to the valley between Weston Park and Weston lane, tried to eat one of my hens one night but luckily he got confused and fled.
ReplyDeleteMy badger is of the children's book variety, in that everyone loves them for the cuddly and inoffensive things that they really (unreally) are.
DeleteThey did a good job, on your good work
ReplyDeleteYes, they did.
DeleteI went to the largest and most respected art foundry in Europe, and they did a very good job.
DeleteAnother artist happy to step up. It's a good looking little woodland creature. That seems to be a plethora of deck railing. I hope it's graced by more creatures.
ReplyDeleteIt is. most are mine but some are not.
DeleteHe is a beauty Tom. Our Auction House, Tennants, have an Auction of Bronzes shortly and they are on show upstairs. You may well be able to view them if you go online.
