My next incarnation

I was looking at the Iford Manor cat yesterday when a lady selling tickets to the garden commented on the fact he is only one year old. I was astounded - he is enormous, but will carry on growing for another three years.

He is a Maine Coon I am told, and I am also told that they grow to be huge. It's a good job he is a gentle, friendly creature. He likes to lie down right in front of you as you are trying to work.

I think if I could choose to come back in another life, I would be a Maine Coon living at Iford Manor.

  2. Our cats always used to sit on everything we were doing .... they seem to love doing that ! The Iford Manor cat is lovely .... we had a ginger Tom .... not as posh as a Maine Coon but lovely, none the less and just as big ! Have you sorted your tool problem yet ? ( oooer missus !!! ) XXXX

    1. Well I am just buying replacement tools bit by bit, beginning with cheaper versions. I will have to buy one expensive one for the next time I work with marble. You cannot use cheap tools on marble. You only asked so you could make the innuendo, didn't you?

  4. Maine Coons are lovely cats. They act a bit more like a dog, than a cat in terms of personality. Yes, if one was to be reincarnated as an animal, it would definitely be as a house cat! -Jenn

  6. I have always thought that a cat with a good home is the luckiest creature on the planet.

    1. It would seem so, but I am sure they have their own concerns.

  7. Oh, he's a looker. And, yes, he still has to grow into those ears!

  8. Yes, you and Bea hit on all the anatomy Mr. Main Coon has yet to achieve. Those ear tufts are a dead giveaway.

  9. I am a "dog person", but have always fancied a Maine Coon.
