Banana and salted caramel. £5 well spent

I heard that Farage did not get out of his campaign bus today because it was besieged with loads of people with milkshakes. One minute he is saying he would don camouflage fatigues and fight ISIS, now he is daunted by milkshakes.

I am proud that he was - with his camera crew - kicked out of my pub last year and the Farage Wave was created by a friend of mine.

Today was the big (ish) vote here in Europe. I didn't want to vote for any of the bastards, but the rise of the far right made it too important not to. I am not looking forward to the next 5 years.

Goodbye British Steel. Goodbye Theresa May.  Goodbye Jamie Oliver. Goodbye almost everything of national value.

Britain is fucked for the foreseeable future.

  1. What was he trying to do bringing a camera crew into your local? -a hearty 'haha' that he was kicked out.

    1. If the USA wants to extradite someone from the UK who they wish to make an example of, then our government lets them. If we want to extradite a U.S. citizen from their country it is never allowed. I hope we have the balls to refuse to join Trump in a war with Iran, but if he decides to bomb them from British aircraft carriers there is nothing we can do about it. Special Relationship.

  3. It's interesting to note that the two political parties that stand to gain the most are both brand new; one wishes to stay in the EU, and the other to quit. Nothing changes.

    1. They stand to gain the most because they started with nothing. They have nothing to lose. The two main parties have almost succeeded in totally destroying themselves with no outside help.

  4. I remember writing about British Steel 3 or 4 years ago. All EU steel producers could theoretically suffer the same fate as British Steel but their respective governments subsidise them. We don't. We send money to subsidise third world countries. Perhaps they will return the favour when we become one.

    1. We send subsides to India. India own the other half of the steel industry. When we stopped being an industrial nation we didn't stop seeing ourselves as a powerful one. How did we become powerful in the first place?

  5. I almost didn't vote as times are so miserable and I can't see a decent future...but then changed my mind and thought we have to continue and continue with some sort of hope..however slight.

    1. The only reason I voted was to try and counter the rise of the far right all over Europe. It's all over the world, in fact. This is a very dangerous situation.
