I don't believe in Santa Claus

10 tons of mail destined for Hebron and held in Jordan for 10 years having been been blocked by Israel, has just been delivered to the Palestinian addressees. Most of it has now gone mouldy, and some of it cannot be deciphered, so now many of the recipients will never get the late news or gifts, even if they are still alive.

This is called a 'confidence building' exercise by the Israeli government.

  1. I think the Palestinian postmaster said 'better late than never' but it is appalling this blocking of correspondence.

    1. That is an example of the very stoic sense of humour that Arabs are known for.

  2. You sometimes hear of the odd bag of mail stolen/lost/not delivered by a British, thieving/lazy, hopefully, Ex-postman.

    1. The stealing or impeding of mail in the UK is a crime against the Crown - until Royal Mail becomes 100% privatised.
