Excuse the bun

The hat arrived yesterday, all the way from the USA. H.I. hates it. She says it makes me look like a Texan. What is wrong with that? The Everly Brothers were Texans.

The box it came in is - under the circumstances - very appropriate. 'Gonella (established 1886) Hamburger Buns'. Slogan - 'WE BAKE TO DIFFER'.

    1. Maybe as a test for general reactions - when I feel brave enough.

  3. We would have to see it on to know if you look Texan. It doesn't seem large enough for that.

  4. It looks a tad crisp and new. Maybe you should wear it in (indoors) for a month or so. Otherwise it looks good.

    1. I think it will always look like that unless I take the stiffening out of it, which would mean destroying it.

  5. You kneed to to work on it. Not a trip through the washer yet; a spray bottle, a good soaking, a few twists, then sort of pat it out and dry it over a wine bottle. Like Holmes, coming through the door from an awful night of the moor, and tossing it.

    1. It isn't the Holmes hat of Rathbone, so I think I will treat it as something else and continue the search for that hat.

  6. It is absolutely too new. When do you imagine yourself wearing this? Is it to be an everyday accessory or just for certain occasions and outfits? It might require just the right jacket or coat to go with it. So much to consider!

  8. Hahahaha! We Bake to Differ!

    Also: nice hat.

Also: so many amazing musicians come from TX. Don Henley of the Eagles, Roy Orbison, Janis Joplin...etc.

    1. I think we should stop talking Texan now. What put this into H.I.'s head was that the seller described it as a tweed 'cowboy hat'. From that moment on, her mind was made up.

    1. That's a bit like the teddy boy asking if the policeman's head comes to the top of his helmet.
