Over here in NYC, it's constant helicopter traffic cruising around above keeping an eye on us that seems to affect my internet connectivity. It's a bit spooky and doesn't necessarily make me feel safer.
They can talk to people on the moon with easier, I think. In Rome, everyone has instantly fast fibre optic - at no extra cost. We are so ripped-off here, mainly because of so-called competition in the world of telecommunications - my arse!
I have just discovered something else which is horrible about TalkTalk. If I type the name of a company into Google which is not registered with Yahoo, then I get an error message from TalkTalk saying that the page cannot be found - because TalkTalk have - without my permission - diverted my search over to Yahoo by reconfiguring the preferences on my router - MY router - remotely. Four-letter words cannot express my hatred for TalkTalk at the present.
They have obviously got a deal going with Yahoo. A friend recently got as fed up with TalkTalk as I am, so changed providers. When it was up and running, she found that the new provider had just been bought out by TalkTalk and is run on their system. Great care needs to be taken when changing ISPs.
Yes, we do have optic-fibre here in Bath - at a price...
ReplyDeleteOh, and after a (nother) day spent indoors yesterday, I can now get into the old email accounts - just.
DeleteI'm thinking there is no optimum solution. We have satellite. Extremely choosy about the weather it will tolerate.
ReplyDeleteDon't want satellite and don't want AOL.......
DeleteHave you tried BT? Or is that who you have now?
ReplyDeleteBT is my next choice - they are responsible for EVERYTHING - including the copper wires outside.

ReplyDeleteNor me. You can shoot down a helicopter with a .38 pistol.
DeleteDo you miss the old days of going to the library and hand writing letters?
ReplyDeleteNo. I miss quill pens.
DeleteTense and stressful times chez H.I & Tom. Do you think that your internet problems will ever be resolved ? XXXX
ReplyDeleteWith the blessed relief of death, maybe.
DeleteIf I could help you I would.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind a blow-job.
DeleteTomorrow, it's my birthday. Your place or mine?
DeleteIf I could do it all over again, I'd do it all over you.
DeleteThats beautiful
ReplyDeleteWasn't it?
DeleteThere's poetry taking place here, mind.
DeleteLike your poem, Tom. My internet connection is rubbish as well. Been bucketing down here.

DeleteMove to Rome. When optic fibre is free in Bath, move back to Bath again. Greetings Maria x
DeleteJust make sure you dont put your money in the bank in Rome, leave it in Bath.
DeleteI wouldn't be able to leave my debts in Bath.
DeleteHow about popping in next door and asking them who they use (and if it works)?
ReplyDeleteIf they didn't have a password on their router wifi, then I would use whoever they are using! (No, not really).

DeleteI hope you find a solution soon,
ReplyDeletethan you will be over the moon,

about Internet.
