I don't understand why the media isn't treating this as a scandal. I didn't even know he was allowed to take such a public stand on international affairs.
In his father's day, there were full-scale fist-fights in the Canadian Parliament. I was hoping that Obama bode well for US politics in general, but I think he is just about spent now.
Not.sure what to think. Better to have them as a friend than as an enemy. I know that flooding the market with cheap steel is a dirty trick but I just wonder whether the end of the steel industry is approaching just as it did with the coal production. I worry about all those steel workers losing their jobs just before christmas - and about them all finding other jobs - it is so soul destroying and they were such hard workers. The fact of the matter is Tom - I don't really know what I am talking about - I want us to be friends with China, but I also want our steel workers to keep their jobs, or be found other work quickly. Confused farmer's wife here.
I would like to be friends with Chinese people, not the Chinese People's Republic, but then again there has been no reason - until now - not to be.. I am confused too, Weave.

ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Trudeau's victory bodes well for US elections.
