Bye bye, Tony

You couldn't make it up, but if I could have thought of it, I would have. Tony Abbott has just spectacularly shot himself in the foot by awarding a knighthood to - Prince Phillip the Duke of Edinburgh!

He was obviously completely drunk when he dreamed that one up.

On his last visit to Australia, Prince Phillip was introduced to some Aboriginal tribesmen. His question to them? "Tell me, do you still chuck spears at each other?"

I can just see it now:

"Arise, Sir Phillip Mountbatten,  KG, AdC, PC (!), KT,GBE, OM, QSO, AC, AK, GLC, ONZ, CC, CMM, NIIV, DUT, DK, KSGC, GCR, RE, GCGI, GCP, RSerafO,GCTS,SVR SR, GCIH, GCA, LLD, DCL, DSc, "

  1. Perhaps it's part of his plan to secure a knighthood for himself when he loses office.

    1. Can't se him getting a knighthood from anywhere other than Albania - the place which worshipped Norman Wisdom.

  2. I always thought that Tony Abbot was a comedian & now he has proved that I was correct.

    1. But he's a comedian without a sense of humour.

    3. Who's writing your blog at the moment? Have you hired someone new because if I were you I'd sack him.

    4. Who's taking your photos at the moment? Sack them as well. They are bloody useless.

  4. Where exactly will the Sir come in the list of all his titles?

  5. By the way, at the risk of appearing pedantic it is Philip with one 'l'. It's just that it's a matter I am sensitised to so I could not help noticing.

    1. Are you - by any chance - the Duke of Edinburgh?

  8. Ugh, Abbott is such a creep. And even more of an idiot than our own Shonky Johnkey, the teflon PM.

  9. He'll be keeping it in his sock drawer, along with his book of 'slitty eyed jokes'.

  10. He's a disgrace and an embarrassment on the world stage. And I and many colleagues around Australia will lose their jobs at the end of the year because of his short-sightedness. Boo to him and good riddance.

  11. 'He was obviously completely drunk when he dreamed that one up.'

I was completely drunk the night my fellow Australians elected him.

    1. Hopefully he's getting rolled on Tuesday anyway.

On second thoughts, hopefully he doesn't. He's our best hope for a better government come the next election.

Antipodean colonial knights a monarch ... no wonder he's getting turfed out. And he did it on Australia Day.

    2. Thinking about it, it could be tactically better to leave him there, but ANYONE standing against him is going to look intelligent compared to him, so maybe not.

    3. I mean, it's not setting the pole too high, is it?

    4. Tony's just pulled the leadership spill back to tomorrow (Monday).
      *social media goes wild*
It's pretty mad here at the moment.

  12. Amazingly there are two Aussie families who both live in a nearby village; their homes are about 100 metres apart. One lot hates Abbott with a vengeance; the others sing his praises.
