I heard on tonight's news, Tom, that if one can recall names for faces one is less likely to fall to dementia or Alzheimer's. How's that for incentive, undisclosed prize notwithstanding.
Don't worry, I think that only relates to people who cannot remember what their spouse looks like. That's the great thing about being a famous writer - you are not always recognised on the street. I am not always recognised on the street either, which is just as well.
Like it, Tom! I only give a short sign of life - no guesses, though I have a few. Sit from 6 o'clock in the morning till 10 in the evening at my desk - working, sometimes swearing, eventually a cup of tea and something to eat - getting To-do-urgently!-mails and feeling a bit sorry for myself - but there will be light, hopefully next week.
You - as a previous prize-winner - must know that I only send things like cushion covers, or Kath Kidson tea-towels... (ok, maybe the odd - very odd - book too).
I ought to say that they are favourites not just because of their writing, but mainly because of their supremely NORMAL disposition toward life.
ReplyDeleteNo 4 is auntie glad
ReplyDeleteAs a young woman? Im glad she's your auntie, if not your creator.

DeleteI think they are all different versions of Nora Roberts or D.H.Lawrence.
ReplyDeleteWho's D H Lawrence?

ReplyDeleteIs No 3 the waxwork model of Madame Tussaud?
ReplyDeleteIf you like.
DeleteI can name them all, but am frightened of the prize.

DeleteWhat? no candlesticks as prizes? I don't recognize enough to win a prize.
ReplyDeleteThen why worry about candlesticks?
