You thought the last one was bad
Someone on the radio this morning gave out the information that 'Cupid's Arrow' came from the ancient Romans' observation of how snails spear each other with a sharp, calciferous spike, prior to actually copulating. You also have to remember that snails are hermaphrodites, and the Romans were very fond of eating them, as is today's romantic Frenchman in the city of Valentine's holidays - Paris.
I don't know about you, but I find my previous post on Valentine's greetings slightly more palatable than this theory about Cupid in particular and cherubs in general. I mean!
