Bath tourism

At last, a flyer that shows Bath in it's true light. I have been trying to alert the Tourist Office to the things mentioned in it, but - far from taking any notice of me - they concentrate solely on the Baths, and Jane bloody Austen.

I heard a Greek tourism minister trying to encourage more British visitors to his country this morning, saying that the riots were limited to small areas in Athens alone, and were very rare events anyway. I wonder what he would make of this poster.

The poster was traditionally printed by an acquaintance of mine, who is more interested in printing techniques than the subject matter he is printing, but the subject matter itself tends to be tainted by his somewhat paranoid outlook on life in general. He is obsessed with vinyl records over and above convenient, digital ones. Enough said.

  1. Oh, and by the way - 'Bum Ditch' really did exist on the southern, lowest end of town - it was the communal sewer.

  4. Are you telling me you have cannibals in Bath?
If so, do you think you are saute, grill or casserole material?

  5. When was all of this going on or is it the norm to see a few nefarious practices going on when you walk down the high street to Waitrose ?!!

  6. And all that happens within a two mile radius of your compact but desirable flat?

Sounds a bit suspect to me Tom...

    1. Now that the wine bar closed down, the events have moved a little closer. No connection.

  7. Actually, this poster was created by yet another drinking partner of mine, Stanley Donwood. He is the artist who does all the Radiohead album covers, but - in this case - he is advertising a free download (audio) to accompany a walking tour of Bath, using your MP3 player. Look out for it on the next Fringe Festival.

  8. I still think you should have a one man show

Pehaps supervised by a selection of your favourite barmaids
