'Must-Have', 2011 - Lifestyle, or what?

Within the last 2 weeks - literally 2 doors away from our compact but adorable city apartment - a new 'Lifestyle' shop has opened up, selling ornaments, candles, mirrors, soap and furniture, etc., and the largest item they sell is this 10 foot high cross which - I am sure you would agree - would look good in anyone's house, leaning up against the wall this Christmas.

I am trying to decide which of my friends deserves it the most, and once I have made that decision, I will gift-wrap it and take it around on Christmas Eve - maybe employing some Roman look-alikes to whip me as I carry it.

What better way to bring in the new year, and what better way to punish your friends?

  1. Just don't stick it on someone's front lawn and set fire to it. There may be repercussions. Seriously...outside of a church....who the heck would want that thing?

  2. Definitely looks like a "have to have" item. All kidding aside, I know someone who would like it. To each their own.

  4. Maybe you press a button and it changes into a small motor-bike.

  5. Hello Tom:
Well, we should give our eye teeth for it as we are rather keen on all things religious - statues of saints, relics, hymn boards, crucifixes, incense burners, stoops, etc. etc. Indeed, quite often we consider turning the spare bedroom into a chapel.

  6. I'm with Chania. I like it too. If I had a bigger, more impressive home that would be adorning my walls. xx

  8. Well now, there's a surprise. All of you seem to love it except Dolores. Life never ceases to amaze me. I'll try to answer your questions by going into the shop today, finding out the price and asking how much it would cost to airmail to North America or Europe. I'll get back to you.

  9. Why not just send the dimensions... they could make their own!

  10. Good idea. Here's a tip for a bespoke one. Lie on the floor with your arms outstretched and get a friend to hammer nails through your palms and feet. Pull them out and use the holes in the floor to design your own to fit. Simple.
