Anyone need any off-cuts?

This is the block of Sherborne stone I bought last week. I sent my local company to pick it up in a 7.5 ton truck, which will legally take 4 tons. It turned out to weigh over 6 tons. This block is about 8 feet long, to give you an idea of scale. Oops.

Anyway, it's here now and it's a good colour. I'll keep you informed as to how it's going. What a way to make a living.

  2. Blimey Tom! As Rodin said 'It's in there somewhere; you just have to chisel away until you find it'. (something like that)

  4. Very impressive. It would be super on a roadside with TEMPORARY DIVERSION engraved on it in huge letters.

  5. You like it then, Mise? (thought you would). If it landed on a mountain roadside in Crete, all they would do is paint it white and expect you to drive round it in the dark.

  6. can you peck and chip me a candlestick shaped door stop?

BTW,....the Brits should be very proud of the young female tennis player, Robson. She did herself proud on center court.

  7. As a matter of interest, what do you do with the off-cuts?

  8. Of course I can, Grouch. Just send me a four figure deposit.

I put them carefully to one side Sue, then wait for a different project. The whole block has been waiting almost 200 million years for me to come along, so a few more won't hurt.
