Today I left the house and looked over the wall to see a Russian submarine had partially surfaced, and was drifting around in the water with it's Captain half out of the upper hatch (this is a genuine photo, and better than the one I took on my phone this am).
Yes, of course today is April the 1st, and I wondered who had gone to so much trouble to make this little gag, but tonight I found out. This weekend is the start of the week-long alternative Comedy Festival in the city, and the Bath Natural Theatre Company had teamed up with the organisers.
A few mates of mine are starring in the events this week, so I hope to get to see them. If I don't, it was good to see the sub today and I'm sure I will see Mr Longworth in the pub at some point.
That`s an excellent way of grabbing people`s attention to forthcoming events ! fantastic view you have out of your bedroom window. You are lucky !
ReplyDeleteI am impressed. I remember walking by Pulteney Wier on a day trip to Bath when I lived in London years ago. What a great place to live!
ReplyDeleteAmazing. What a great capture. Your view is unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteSo that's what it was all about! My son-in-law works in Bath and had a similar shot of the sub on his phone. Crazy stuff.
ReplyDeleteWht a fantastic view!! How fun to see a sub and even more entertaining evening...have a wonderful time!!
ReplyDeleteHope you fired a few shots at it too!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that this isn't the angle that I view (part of) the wier at - you would have to have a room in the 'Empire Hotel' to get a view like this, but I could throw a stone from our roof into the water.
ReplyDeleteIt occured to me that the dummy sticking out of it bears a remarkable similarity to Col. Gaddafi, but this may be coincidence.
