Remember me talking about the mountain goats in Crete a few days ago?
Well here are the Italian equivalent, on the side of the Diga del Cingino Dam wall - yes, those dots.
It's amazing the lengths some people go to to get a little bit of their favourite food - in this case, a type of moss...
WOW! I wonder if any ever fall off?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing as Cro !
ReplyDeleteGood grief!
ReplyDeleteThey obviously don't suffer from vertigo.
ReplyDeleteIt's the thought of the trip back down that's making my head spin.
ReplyDeletewe have wild mountain goats here in nearby Llandudno! survivors from a gift to Queen victoria from Kashmir.
ReplyDeletethey number around 150 animals and live on the great orme!
Yes, I believe some occasionally fall off. They're too stupid to suffer from vertigo - so am I.
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to find pictures of 1 goats and 2 dogs (which look like wolves) at the bottom of the Samarian Gorge - all 3 ran over the edge in sheer excitement/fright - it's a great photo. Thank God I never came across those dogs in the mountains - they are formidable, and have no visible keepers.
See if you can get pictures of your goats, John?
That moss must be outta this world.
ReplyDeleteI've been known to clamber up sheer walls in hot pursuit of female company when I was a lad, but food? - Never.
