The two, seated, elderly ladies at the front of this photo are
Her Indoors's absolute best and most talented painters. Their dedication and skill has been recognised by the City of Bath College, whose principal has granted them life-long, free admission to H.I.'s classes for as long as they want to attend.
Like I have said before, I just love women who do not have to prove anything when they get older - unlike us poor men!
Damn...those are some seriously good painting/sketches!
ReplyDeleteYes, I clicked to enlarge photo and am most impressed. I think it is great that the college would recognise the talents of these women and allow them to attend classes with HI for nothing. So much to learn from the elderly. It says a lot for HI that they continue to paint in her class.
ReplyDeleteThey are fabulous. I agree with you Tom. I think females ( on the whole) complete projects without the need of praise or adoration. Men, on the other hand, are more attention needing and have their ego fed. The only exceptions are Trappist Monks, that I have experienced
ReplyDeleteThe big drawing of the woman with head in hand is superb. Was that done by one of the 'gang of two'?
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Love the work, and how great that they have been acknowledged.
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe all of the pictures being held up by the yoofs were done by Margaret and Marion. This picture was taken by our local newspaper when they were acknowledged for their achievements. It is revealing that they do not seem to think that they have any particular talent over and above anyone else, but the quality of their work shows that they have understood the purpose of attending the classes and art in general - look, learn and keep learning.
ReplyDeleteH.I. would say, rather than just 'look', learn how to 'see'.
ReplyDeleteIs the picture on the left as you look at it of H.I.?
ReplyDeleteYes, David.
ReplyDeletePhwoooar!
