MIND THE GAP

Ever been on a London Underground Tube Train, arrived at a station and heard the recorded voice saying, "MIND THE GAP" ?

Well, that is the voice of Tim Bentick, who plays 'David Archer' in BBC's 'The Archers', and who also happens to be the Earl of Portland in real life, if 'real life' it can be called. Ruth (Felicity Finch) is pictured next to him (OOO NOOO!).

What a strange place England is.

Hold very tight, please. Ding Ding!

  1. I don't know who it is, but the girl that talks to you on the buses in Tokyo is way stranger than Tim Bentick. She not only says hold tight, but move along, where's your umbrella, remember your newspaper, is this really your stop, in a high pitched squeeky, girly voice...she just does not shut up. Really annoying, even in a foreign language.
    Really short fuse this week!

  2. I wonder what's happened in Ambridge over the last 50 years? I think that was the last time I visited.

  3. Do they still employ people to push passengers into the train in Tokyo, Jacqueline? I know that when I've hired cars in America, there was some electronic woman nagging me to put my seat-belt on, close the door, etc. Never once did she compliment me on my driving skills.

What's happened in Ambridge over the last 50 years, Cro? Well... er... Walter Gabriel died, and... er... that's about it really.

  4. That's just a rumor about American cars, you know. Our vehicles do not talk. At least, mine doesn't. Maybe I should go start up a conversation and see what happens.

  5. Mine did, Amy. Maybe yours respects your moon-like silence? Anyway, with a 1970's Camero, you have to shout over the engine noise. There is a type of Rottweiller guard dog which differs from all the others in one respect - they remove the vocal cords from it, so you cannot hear it when it runs up in the dark to eat you...

  6. I've never been pushed into a train in Japan or anywhere else for that matter.
My car doesn't talk to me, but it's german not American...so it just beeps incessantly. A lot like my fridge, stove, telephone, dishwasher, washing machine.....!!!
