Barrack Barak

Let's face it - the shit has landed on everyone's plate over the last couple of months.

But is Obama losing the plot, or is he just an inevitable target for all the 'slightly right of centre' white people in the USA who hate ALL Democrats, let alone ones with African origins?

I can see the scene in the White House now:

"Mr President, there is an oil leak in the Gulf which threatens to be the worst ecological disaster that the USA has ever known"

"Which Gulf?"

"of Mexico"

"Who by?"

"B.P. Mr President"

"B.P? That's British Petroleum. Well, those damned Brits must pay every penny it costs to clean it all up!"

"Not any more, Mr President, it is just called 'B.P.' now. B.P. is 40% U.S. owned and the rest of the operation is controlled my many nations, including more, private, US owned advisors and brokers"

"Then what shall I do?"

"Talk tougher, Mr President"

  1. I liked..someone's take on that. A comedian. Alan Carr, maybe?

"They spent billions of dollars invading Iraq for oil, and we send some straight to their doorstep and oooooooh nooooo....we don't want that.."

Thanks for the comments, Tom. <3

  2. I think Obama is moving along alright. I find it interesting that his emotional reaction is being studied so intently - it's like people need a guide on how mortified to be and they've decided he's the man.

Perhaps, lurking in the back of their minds is the uncomfortable and therefore inadmissable feeling that we are all culpable for this mess, every time we demand more, cheaper fuel for our cars/fridges/etc.

If that's the case, then maybe he is our patsy ...

  3. Petrol is about £1.30 a litre here at the moment, Sarah T - and rising. I blame the proliferation of plastic packaging.

  4. AND - if the U.S. had taken a leaf out of Cuba's book and employed Canadians to pull up the oil, we might not be in this mess...

  6. You have to take the lows with the highs Molly. Look on the bright side, at least I'm not trying to get a bloody book published.

  7. P.S. I could have sworn you were in Ireland, not Wales when you call him "O'Bama"! Seamus O'Bama?

  8. Yes you're right there so you are. I don't know my pedigree exactly but don't think there are any Irish throw backs - will have to go into geo cities to find out when I have a minute. I've got a little leprechaun called Seamus. I will post a picture of him when I have another minute so I will. He's very nice and he doesn't swear.

  9. Grope-Arse lane? I have a tiny, aquatic lizard as a pet. He's my newt. (geditt?)

  10. I wish I'd never heard of Grope Lane. I can only be who I am and I hate filth. Perhaps this is the end of the road for this friendship. I wish you love.

  11. Don't be silly Molly. That word was in proper usage for about a thousand years before the 18th C. puritans put an end to it as a simple word. Don't let the side down by denying the rich lexicography of the English language, even if it does include a bit of Anglo-Saxon. If it's filth you hate, you would not believe how restrained I have been with these blogs to date.
