Golden Chicken Nuggets

The dawning of the 'Golden Era' - excuse me while I throw up. It is worse than embarrassing.

Hats off to Prince Charles for refusing to attend the lavish banquet.

  1. I've always rather liked Charles, but never quite known why. Now I know.

    1. He doesn't always toe the "party" line does he? He comes across as eccentric, but he goes his own way wherever possible.

    2. I've met him, and all I can say is that he has very warm hands, even in the Winter.

  2. I don't understand why the media isn't treating this as a scandal. I didn't even know he was allowed to take such a public stand on international affairs.

    1. Some of them are treating it as a scandal, and Charles is deliberately not taking a public stand by default.

  3. Yes good for Charles.

The Royal Academy won't be on Xi's itinerary that's for sure.

  4. Justin Trudeau is the new prime minister of Canada. Some small sanity in an insane world?

    1. I'm hoping Trudeau's victory bodes well for US elections.

    2. In his father's day, there were full-scale fist-fights in the Canadian Parliament. I was hoping that Obama bode well for US politics in general, but I think he is just about spent now.

  6. Not.sure what to think. Better to have them as a friend than as an enemy. I know that flooding the market with cheap steel is a dirty trick but I just wonder whether the end of the steel industry is approaching just as it did with the coal production.
I worry about all those steel workers losing their jobs just before christmas - and about them all finding other jobs - it is so soul destroying and they were such hard workers.
The fact of the matter is Tom - I don't really know what I am talking about - I want us to be friends with China, but I also want our steel workers to keep their jobs, or be found other work quickly.
    Confused farmer's wife here.

  7. Charles Aznavour wrote a song about him didn't he? "Xi may be the face I can't forget..."
