Watch Aljazeera reportage if you can stand it

If you want to know what is really going on in Gaza now, look at the online news reporting of Aljazeera  - the most respected of all the news networks during Saddam Hussein's attack on Kuwait all those years ago.

Netanyahu has promised safe passage to everyone leaving one of the last surviving hospitals in Rafah, but IDF snipers are shooting people through the windows already, so it does not look good. There is nowhere left for them to go in any case.

We really need to stop selling arms to Israel until they behave themselves, but we will probably carry on as normal. We are facilitating genocide and I am ashamed.

Idiot Labour candidates are spouting anti-Semitic rubbish and destroying their own party's chances in the forthcoming elections here, and it gets messier and messier every day.

  1. Send everyone somewhere "you'll be safe"...then attack that place.....

So few understand that Jewish, Israeli and Zionist don't always describe the same people....and that it isn't only Jews who are Semites

    1. It has almost nothing to do with how branches of Judaism or Moslems are described. It is humanity.

  2. It is such a cruel mess. I do watch Aljazeera if I want to see where the war has reached but I do so only about once a week now.

    1. There is a lot of footage out there, and none of it is fake. What is happening is a shocking disgrace.

  3. Innocent people are victims and war crimes are worse than ever. The news coverage by Aljazeera holds nothing back. The world needs to know what is happening. The US and UK are systematically choosing to have no control over the situation. Horrifying.

    1. As I said, I am ashamed. British orthodox Jews are demonstrating against the genocide along with Arabs and Christians.

  4. This war is a bloody, stupid, effing mess. The world certainly has not been improved on our watch.

  5. Israeli snipers do not shoot civilians. Hamas shoots them. Algazirah they don't always tell the truth, but of course you are comfortable believing them because you already have an agenda. You and those like you give a very good basis for antisemitism.

    1. I believe that the Israeli government has banned Aljazeera from reporting on Gaza so I do not know how much you can see on the net. The IDF refuse to embed any journalists in the war and have killed about 80 in the region. I have seen several pieces of video in which civilians have been shot by Israeli snipers, one of whom was sheltering from the sniper with his young son when they were both shot dead.
It is difficult to hide the truth amidst so much total destruction, and if you were allowed to see the Aljazeera footage you would know that they are not lying. It is not people like me who 'give a very good basis for anti Semitism', it is people like Netanyahu.

    1. This comment was hiding in my spam where it really belongs, but I have brought it out for all to see. I like the idea of someone like you calling me a fool!

  7. There is an on-going separate war between Aljazeera and the Israeli Govt which has been going on for over 15 years. When Israel want to shut up Aljazeera they just shoot the journalists and have been doing so for years. This is fact, not hearsay or propaganda or anything else, it is fact.

    1. That's not true, Rachel. i see Algazirah here and it's another lie that Israel shot a female journalist. An investigation was conducted on this and there are results that tell the truth.

    2. The UN investigation report on the killing you mention of the female Shereen disagrees with you Yael. I am not against you or Israel defending yourselves but there is no good to come from constantly wanting to be the right person and avoiding some truths.

    3. Yesterday I met a young Palestinian woman whose grandfather was a famous painter in Israel. He had to move to Paris because he had an argument with the government. Mossad sent people over to France and killed him. She was not lying. It has been happening for years. Over a hundred journalists have been killed in Israel now. These are also facts and I don't know how many anyone has to hear before they start believing.

    4. Rachel, the UN also announced today that Hamas is not a terrorist organization but rather a political organization, they ignored all the severe sexual abuse and abuse suffered by girls and women in their attack here, when they engaged in violence against women. I don't think I'm ignoring the truth, you're basing it on Algazira which can't be a reliable source. One of their reporters is a Hamas member and it is clear what their position is. From today I no longer intend to argue with you, it is very painful to see how most of you ignore one thing and base yourself on lies that others spread, but I will survive it.

  8. All your assumptions are incorrect I see all the stations here and no one is blocking any station here. You live in a world built on half-truths and lies, I'm the one who lives here and knows what's going on, I would really like one day for you to run with your loved ones to a shelter and seek shelter from missiles, just one day for you to feel that your house is shaking from the shells and your grandchildren who are closer to the fire have been hiding in the room for a whole month One. This has been happening here for years. It's terrible but this time it's either us or them. Yes, it's terrible, and it's possible that one day they'll win, so surely you'll be more calm. It's assumed that I won't be able to bother you anymore with comments here.

  10. It must be sad and depressing for you Yael, to experience first hand what you do on a daily basis and yet having to read opinions from people like Tom and Rachel, safe in their homes in England, telling you that you've got things wrong.

    1. You must know by now that I have very little respect for most of what you say, but what you may have forgotten is that I normally do not allow anyone to attack another on my blog. If you want to have a conversation with Yael about me and Rachel, do it on your own blog, otherwise shut up.

  11. Tom, if you have not heard of her, you might try reading some of Amanda Gelender's stuff. She is a Jewish woman living in Switzerland who makes a very important distinction between Jewish faith and Zionists. I understood it as soon as I began reading it. It is the same distinction you have to make between Christians and Christian Nationalists. Two completely different things.

    1. In correlation, there are very distinct differences between anti-Semites, anti-Zionists and anti-Israelis. I am none of them.

    2. That is gaslighting, Tom. When those words are lobbed at people with different opinions, that is done to derail the conversation. As soon as you rise up to defend yourself against those accusations, the conversation becomes about whether you're an antisemite, instead of whether Israel has violated the Geneva convention.

PS, rule one of the Geneva convention: Summary: Basic rules of international humanitarian law in armed conflicts
Persons hors de combat and those who do not take a direct part in hostilities are entitled to respect for their lives and their moral and physical integrity. They shall in all circumstances be protected and treated humanely without any adverse distinction.

According to Unicef, 40% of the 28,848 killed in Gaza were children. (I'll do the math: 11,543) That is inexcusable.

We will be dismissed as 'ignorant' and 'antisemite', but we cannot allow that to detract from the facts of the situation.
