Starmer is a windbag

Having heard Kier Starmer's empty pledges ahead of the speech he is due to give today, I am now convinced we are going to be truly fucked for at least another 5 years. The Conservatives just lie and Labour does not tell the truth.

As with the Conservatives, Labour is still unelectable for any reason other than blind ideology. Bath will remain safely Lib Dem and our pot holes might get filled - at least outside the Guildhall anyway.

  2. It sounds like nobody is facing the hard reality. Is there someone up-and-coming that you could promote?

    1. I am not really in a position to promote anyone, even if I knew about them.

  3. Glad that Bath is sticking to the lib.dems, even though their chances are nil.

    1. What makes you say that? I really think you should answer this question.

    2. I didn't ask The Trelawnyd Community Association, I asked you. Be brave. Tell me what you really meant, in your own voice.

    3. I was on my phone when I answered that Tom .
In my own voice, in my own words “ you seem to have lost some of your old love of blogging…not that you loved it in my addictive kind of way
      That’s what I meant .
      It wasn’t a criticism

    4. No, I don't believe you. If you looked back at the 4.5 thousand posts I have put up, you will see that I do fluctuate between various moods and word counts, sometimes verbose, sometimes picture-heavy and sometimes overtly political. I frequently lose my love of blogging - if I ever loved it - but I have never really changed my tack as far as attitude to followers and popularity. I recently became so addicted to Instagram that I have deleted the app from my phone, so I know about addiction. I have never really been that interested in popularity, because I find sycophants so easy to please that they disgust me. I would rather be unpopular.
Now, what did you really mean?

    5. Correction: Sycophants don't disgust me, they make me feel disgusted with myself.

    6. Believe what you like…it was only an observation Tom

  6. Our politicians of any party are a very well paid useless collection. They all need to be chucked out. We either need a National government as in the last war when they all pulled together or elect MPs that are independent of any party. Our own local county council seems to be going that way.

    1. More now than ever, the idea that anyone who seeks power is wrong for the job is working out to be true. Something happens to politicians who go into parliament to do good when they get into government itself. It is a huge machine which creates its own climate. Conservatives are not the only sleaze merchants, but there are a lot in there at the moment.

    2. As I can't really defend what I said last night this morning I will let it go for a harmonious life with you but let it be said that there are many Latin American ountries that are ungovernable through fraud and corruption and many others around the world which you do not want to hear about now. The UK government as they manifest themselves are unable (or unfit) to govern due to destroying themselves and any belief we might have had in them at one time from the inside out. As for the ungovernable people, all think they know best and have many lines of communication through social media to express it and to form active protest groups who can influence decision making at every turn. That makes governing the people difficult. In Europe underneath the unity murmurings about Ukraine there are many differences and doubts and what is given and sent to Ukraine differs enormously on the bottom line figures. We may not all be ungovernable but governing is extremely more difficult today than it was in Macmillans day.
