Harry is a twat

Two in one day. What a treat for you.

I have kept pretty neutral about Harry and Megan since the press first started to rip her apart, but now I have begun to make my mind up about certain basics, not that it is any of my business.

I have a few ex military friends who I know - or have suspected - of killing people in combat during their service, but I have never asked them about it. One told me of a particular incident which still haunts him to this day, and the story was related one dark night when we were on our own in the Lake District.

Harry has blithely said that he has killed 25 Taliban members, and saw it as 'taking chess pieces off the board', much to his erstwhile colleagues dismay.

Everyone knew that he must have killed some people when he was a helicopter gunship pilot in Afghanistan, but everyone politely never brought the subject up as far as I know.

The man is a twat and it is about time he stopped causing problems for all of us by getting the privacy which he purported to be seeking when he left. If I was his brother I would probably knocked him into the dog bowl too.

  1. I cringe every time I read some new excerpt from his book. Each one is more embarrassing than the last! You'd think even a slow-witted man of his age would have more self-respect than that.

    1. The horsey business behind the pub was the worst for me, but there is more to come...

    1. I don't think he will make it back into the household.

  3. I think he’s a damaged man who has the psychological need to be heard. Unfortunately that need has eclipsed many common sense behaviours opened to him.
Most families have similar spats …this one is under a spotlight and now media frenzy which is sad for everyone

    2. And therapy appears to have made things worse. What happened to dignity, and not washing one's dirty linen in public?

    3. You even manage to get comments on other people's posts by pointing out the bleedin' obvious.

    4. The “ Hang him high” brigade often don’t mention his psychological state which, I suspect isn’t healthy.
I think his overriding need to be heard has clouded his judgement

    5. I lack patience. I have often told disturbed people who cause me problems that I don't care about their mental state because I am not qualified to help them. I add that I will stop them from disturbing me no matter how ill they are. That has always worked.

    1. Rumour is that they have different fathers. Maybe Harry took after his own.

    2. Which is polite for saying that he, Harry, took after his mother.

  5. He is gradually causing his own downfall. His book has just gone to prove that he is one sandwich short of a picnic ! Not the sharpest knife in the box and all the other similar expressions. I don't see what he's complaining about. I have always thought it must be far better being the spare than the heir ..... all the benefits without the responsibility. But, the pair of them are proven narcissists and narcissists always have to be top dog. He needs professional help. XXXX

    2. I suspect he’s had therapy coming out of his ears.
He’s a damaged man who has made bad decisions

  6. I entirely agree with you Tom. He winged about all the publicity and wanted to get away from it, then self feeds his present situation with it. (Australian press is now calling him "the Prince of Wailes") The basic job of a soldier is to kill the enemy, 'nuff said and professional military men never talk about their actions.

At one time I thought he brought a breath of fresh air to the Royal setup, but since his involvement with Meghan he seems to have completely gone to pieces. I understand that he is referred to as "the hostage" in Royal circles and undoubtably undermined the late Queen's old age and health with his little boy antics. He needs to shut up and go away with his captor to make money in the USA (which appears to be turning against him now).

    1. All this stuff had to stay bottled when the Queen was alive. It's just another example of her influence.

  7. I have no doubt that Harry is a narcissistic twat, but to me the bigger picture is that the whole institution is equally infantilising and rotten to the core. That we care at all is frankly ludicrous. The whole thing is nothing more than a myth - and ironically, one that's at odd with all the normal societal values we hold. It's all bonkers and deep down we know it.

    1. When it works well it is the right type of bonkers, I think. We could all do with more of that type of traditional bonkers.

  8. I agree with Mark the whole thing is nothing more than a myth. There was only Diana who I ever had time for.

  9. Dear Tom, you write "...not that it is any of my business" - but I think it is business, making money with books and films that he is after.
I am deeply uninterested in him or his wife. .

    1. Yes, having renounced his inheritance he needs to sell a book or two. It reminds me of Sarah Fergusson.
