Levelling out and getting the job done

The current lot are holding their jamboree in Manchester whereas Labour held theirs in Brighton. Hmm... let me see.

The Conservative Culture Secretary, Nadine Dorris, took time out to darkly warn that the BBC may not exist in 10 years time because it was too snobbish and generally ignored working class people. She said that were no working class regional accents to be heard on the elitist network. When was the last time she listened to the radio or watched TV?

I don't blame them for taking full advantage of the shocking disarray which Labour is in and I don't blame them for pretending to be the only party left which has working peoples' interests at heart, and that they speak  - and more importantly listen to -  the disillusioned Left in the North. I would do the same myself in their position.

Boris was on the Today programme this morning for the first time in 2 years. It has taken that long for him to be confident enough to face the best journalists in the business at 8.10 in the morning, and he holds the purse strings.

He has got a handle on everything now. The supply-chain failures are entirely the fault of the businesses who created them. They should have treated their drivers better by giving them higher wages and better conditions rather than relying on cheap foreign labour, and they should have made the job of driving a lorry more inviting to the next generation to attract younger people into the haulage trade. Perhaps he has forgotten about the 10 years of austerity imposed by a previous administration?

He says that he was not aware of the mass slaughter and incineration of pigs due to the lack of abattoir workers. Really? The Prime Minister was not aware? Is he aware that foreign pork is now replacing British meat on the shelves of the lower-end supermarkets? He must have shockingly poor advisors. Still, he did make a very jolly joke about it  - in Latin - which the pig farmers thought very funny indeed.

The fools calling themselves Insulate Britain have made Pritti Patel's job really easy for her. Thanks to their antics of glueing themselves to motorways and stopping ambulances from getting where they need to be, very soon you will be arrested if the police even suspect that you are on your way to a demonstration. You will have your vehicle impounded and face a 6 month prison sentence. Good job, Insulate Britain.

Things are going swimmingly well for Boris.

  1. You will see I have mentioned Boris today Tom and I am vowed never to mention politics - but what I am mentioning is not really a political issue.

Did they broadcast that on BBC, Tom? Then it makes me understand the accusation of "snobbishness" - just a joke, hahaha.

In our family we have one (one!) Latin saying: "Turdus ipse sibi malum cacat" - the thrush shits its own misfortune - because thrusts eat mistletoe-berries, and the Italians used the shit they produced to catch the birds with mistletoe-shit-smeared limed twigs..

    1. Yes, his Latin quip was broadcast. Interesting way to catch thrushes - if you want to eat them.

  3. One of my favorite sayings is: "What goes around, comes around." Also, short term thinking and action usually gets you some blow back.

    1. Covering their sorry arses. I should be proud, but how can that be possible?

  5. I really wish things were going better for Boris. In that case, things would be better for you. Or, be careful what you wish for. We were shet of our Boris and we had a mini insurrection and a load of the other party damming up Congress. Plus a couple of our own. It's a clusterfuck the world around.

  6. The soundbite I heard from the clusterfuck in Manchester (glorious word!) was that they wanted everyone to have good jobs for good pay.
So who is going to do the not so pleasant jobs that still have to be done? Giving people prepared to do them a decent wage would be a good start in levelling up.
