Well, I have never held any inherent antagonism toward back bench M.P.s of any party. It's the cabinets who I usually rant about.
Over the years, I have had many more close friends who are Conservative rather than Labour. Many more.
I have tried making friends with staunch Labour supporters, but they just don't - usually or typically - have any sense of humour. Intelligent Conservatives on the other hand are often a very good laugh - which is more important to me than almost anything else when it comes to surviving a party - with a lower-case P.
I always have been nice to everyone - well, not everyone, but most.
So no change necessary or forthcoming from you, but the rest of England will fall in line. Fat Chance.
ReplyDeleteI will still complain about career politicians who are more interested in power than they are in serving their constituents. No change there.
DeleteThere is far to much violence and it seems worse lately. Reverting to attack and violence seems to be the gut reaction of our time. Sad.
ReplyDeleteViolence dominates everything. I am sick of it.
DeleteI blame the digital media for much of the intolerance. It is so easy to be ugly (as opposed to nice) when you are untraceable. Others are influenced by this ugliness. The digital world needs to be brought into line. All comments should be traceable back to source.
ReplyDeleteI agree (said the man hiding behind a false identity). Give me £50 and I will tell you who I really am.
DeleteI don't understand or comprehend just why there are so many abusive and violent people around today.
ReplyDeleteIt is a media frenzy and it includes all forms of media, including social.
DeleteAs the Panorama program last night showed, if you begin to look at abusive stuff on facebook then their algorithms will point you to more abusive stuff, and it will get more and more extreme within a few weeks. It is in facebook's interests to keep you looking as long as they can because they then make more from online advertising - I think it said an average of $31 p.a. per user, and they have nearly 3 billion users.
ReplyDeleteYes. Many of our pressing problems can be ascribed to giant tech companies who take revenue from sold data. It stinks, but we find ourselves in the position of not being able to properly function without them.
