Peaceful transition

Do you have any dark worries about Joe Biden's inauguration? He who should not be named has been thrown off Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and now Parler has been thrown off the platforms, all the president can do is shout at anyone who will listen to him, and there are still a lot of people who hang on his every word.

'The biggest witch-hunt in America's history', he says. 'No violence',  he ends with, giving a virtual knowing wink toward his more extreme followers.

The best we can hope for as his legacy would be his single-handed setting-back of the Republican Party by about 50 years. The worst doesn't bear thinking about.

Can you imagine how different the response would have been if it were Black Lives Matter protesters storming the Capitol? Many more than four dead, and they would not be 3-1 the security forces.

  1. Starting this weekend "armed protests" are being planned in all 50 state capitals. These terrorists aren't done and I fear there's going to be more loss of life before this is all over. "Deplorable" is too good a word for Trump supporters. Next Wednesday (inauguration day can't come soon enough).

  2. I agree with Jennifer. It is scary and the more we learn the scarier it all sounds.

  5. It's a bit like being able to smell something nasty in the air, that feeling that something bad is coming.

  6. When Trump was voted into power we all felt sorry for Americans. Who knew that this is how it could end?

    4. I am not asking you to go, Willie. We all like you and value you as a friend. All I am asking is that you give me the chance to respond to comments before you add your contribution. It's called good manners.

  9. And now the House just voted for impeachment. I fear for Biden's safety, and for Harris too. These are some bad days we're living through. I am sad for our country. Just dropping in from Weaver of Grass blog.

    1. If it was Obama taking over from Trump, the situation would have been even more dangerous, with all those Confederate flags being held up.

  10. The impeachment hearing was horrifying. So many republicans are willing to write this whole thing off as 'politics'. How are people not horrified by this monster? I will never understand why his actions don't have alarm bells ringing for every American.

    1. The Republicans are in damage limitation mode, and their leaders are getting desperate.

  11. The spirit of Trump will be around for a long time. About half the country emulates him and really would like the days of Jim Crow back. That's what scary. It's not one man, it's thousands.

    1. The hard core will never believe or accept that that Biden won fair and square, despite the tiny margin that Trump won by. Resentment will fester.

  12. I see he is now contemplating starting his own social network site now he has been thrown off all the others. He can then really be a loose cannon and we all know he would have a large following and we all know who they would be!

Dark times indeed for the poor old USofA
