I'm a bit of a Trekkie. One of my favourite stories in Start Trek Next Generation is when the computer is asked to create a character who can outsmart the android, Data. It comes up with a 3D, computer generated Professor Moriarty. He's even cast to look like the Sidney Paget illustration.
Do I remember reading that Sidney Paget was asked to illustrate the stories by mistake and that the publishers had meant to ask his brother?
Altogether, Sidney Paget did some 356 published drawings for the Sherlock Holmes series... His brother Sidney Paget received a letter sent to him by mistake, it should have gone to another brother, Walter Paget.. There were three bothers in all..and ALL illustrators.. Walter Paget also did 233 illustrations for non-detective stories..!
Dr Who..I have'nt watched any of the repeats, never liked any of the actors playing him! :( I'm strictly a Tom Baker fan..and he was, and still is..voted the best Dr Who ever..! When l came to this country in 73, l w3as married then, my wife was a seamstress/knitter/crafter etc.. She had a bin liner full of wool offcuts, l asked her what she was gonna do with them, cut a long story short..she knitted me a Dr Who scarf..18ft long..the right length..AND..l still have it, AND l still wear it..! :) Love the old Dr Who's..You can keep the new ones..! Would'nt give'em the time of day..! :(
Well..Liverpool finished up winning 7~0 so..l'm gonna have a beer..! :o).
HeHe! Now! Now! :). Pretend yer a pair of curtains.. And 'pull' yourself together..! :).
Reichen in German means pass..so l suppose you could interpret his name to pass the balls..sort of a 'round' about way of answering the question..! Not that it matters..but in Italian it would be..Passaggio..! As Holmes describe Moriarty... The "Napoleon of crime"...
Must get on..in the middle of the Palace, Liverpool game..Liverpool three up..Whey~Hey!
Honestly, WILLIE, I don’t know what we did here without you for so long! You are a fountain of knowledge or a master googler! This now combined with Tom’s always interesting posts, I have just put in a lifetime subscription to both of you!
Thank you for mentioning Willie's blog - as I share his passion for pink I became a follower - but am so unsure whether we stay in a pink time warp? 2008?
Gosh a real live living encyclopaedia on your blog called Willie. Now as we are typing away in space, is Willie real or a very clever intellectual robot, maybe Hal ;)
Ah! Can l just explain summat about my Blog.. Back in 2008..l was given an old PC..and Ally a friend who went school with my daughter, said.."Willie, you must have a Blog". "Blog? Blog? Blog?" So..To cut a very long story short, she interviewed me, and together plus photos, over three hours, my Blog came about..so, l am the the original author of it..though over the years, and since l learned to copy/paste l added/took away a few things..
I have been nagged..nagged..and nagged..about posting, or even starting a new Blog..But! No! I've always decided against it..! So l enjoy just a few Blogs, like this one, and especially this one, as most people on here seem to interact with each other..which l feel that's what blogging is ALL about..
So Britta..Yes! I've always been in a pink time warp..! :o).

You had better ask Willie. I'm sure he'll look it up for you.

DeleteI will check out his blog. Good of you to give him little odd jobs. A man likes to stay busy. 😀
DeleteThis goes totally over my head (and all other parts of my anatomy) - I tink Iam far too innocent for all this nonsense.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Weave. Nobody would understand it unless they read a comment that Bea left on my post about radio plays. Her typo made me laugh.
DeleteEveryone should have their very own willie
ReplyDelete'Everyone needs a willie in their lives' is what she who must be obeyed said.
DeleteTank Gott I failed German in college and left my interest on the desk when I left.
ReplyDeleteI know how to order food and drink in Germany.
