I love the Crash Test Dummies. I have a soft spot for all Canadians anyway, but a bass baritone voice in pop or rock music is so rare and the rich accent is wonderful.
Sadly the Dummies crashed and burned a few years ago. Winnipeg spawned many excellent musicians, The Guess Who, BachmanTurner Overdrive, Harlequin, Streetheart, Neil Young...
Don’t think Winnipeg can claim Neil Young, he only lived there for one year before heading back to Toronto and Pickering.
I remember being in a Vancouver hotel elevator complaining about the hotel wifi to a guy in the elevator who was also having problems. It was 10 mins later that I realized he was Burton Cummings.
I always think of Superman’s Song with the CTD it shows Roberts’ voice off to perfection.
Canadians have also - in the main - remained faithful to the acoustic guitar.

DeleteThat voice astounded me the first time that I heard it and all these years later, it still does.
