Joe Biden has said that Britain will be at the back of the queue when it comes to trade deals. The Democrats will concentrate all their efforts on Europe.
Boris Johnson has done nothing but dither over covid policy since the very beginning. He has proved himself unfit to be Prime Minister. He cannot cope, and neither can any of his cabinet.
Would Starmer have done any better? Actually, yes he would. Rather than criticise with the benefit of hindsight, he has been telling the government what to do weeks before they get round to doing it, by which time the damage is ten times as bad as it could have been.
In the next few years, we will no longer be even a nation of shopkeepers.
Well..l can't argue with any of this..
ReplyDeleteWholeheartedly agree, with everything...
So..lets have a couple of funnies..
Boris Johnson is told he needs to
assemble a new cabinet..
Coming back from IKEA, he realizes he's
greatly misunderstood the task..
My friend has died after his trophy
cabinet fell on him..
He was a victim of his own success..
The spices in my cabinet where so old
that I had to throw them out..
What a waste of thyme..
Carpenter wanted..
Cabinet is falling apart..Address:-
10 Downing Street..
What do you call a cabinet that wears clothes?
A dresser..
There ya go..best l can do..off the top of me head..! :).
PS..Don't you think that Starmer looks/acts more like
a Tory..Than a Tory..! :(.
The thyme one was my favourite, but not by much...
DeleteMarina Hyde said that perhaps Britain has had enough of exports.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the people who depend on exports think of that notion.
DeleteI try hard not to comment on politics as they pertain to other countries, assuming there is much I don't understand. I am curious. What Biden has said is that trade with UK depends on whether or not they abide by the Good Friday agreement. Are you for abandoning that agreement and why. I am not challenging that...just trying to understand your stance.
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it, the Good Friday agreement would be under threat if Britain had to impose hard borders between the North and the South of the island of Ireland. When we properly leave the E.U., this conundrum to will cause problems which nobody has managed to solve to the satisfaction of both parties. It is a very tricky situation which nobody has - as yet - found a solution to.
DeleteSorry. That was composed on a small phone as I cook. It could be clearer, even in my own mind.
DeleteThe USA has a long history of supporting Irish republicans. Noraid donations paid for a lot of guns in the 1970s. Ordinary people in US bars funded terrorists in those days.
DeleteYes. A lot of people in bars support tRUMP too. Which leads me to believe that we should simply disregard the opinions of drunks. But that was not a governmental stance was it? (Runs off to read some more.)
DeleteHopeful popularists will appeal to the bigliest section of the electorate.
DeleteOh wow, we have enough stupid running things in the U.S. The “King of Europe” should leave us alone.
ReplyDeleteHe has left us alone, now it's your turn.
DeleteOh wait - he has started a new party. It's called, 'Reform UK.'
DeleteAnd now they reckon the NHS app had faulty programming. You just couldn’t make it up!
ReplyDeleteLittle shits like Gove trying to use his power by scaring everyone in saying, 'If I decide the month needs to be extended, then it will be.' What a little shit.
DeleteKing of Europe? He wouldn't get the job of toilet attendant in my world.
ReplyDeleteThat's what Trump called him as he got on a podium.
