A smooth transition

There's a lot more planes in the sky today. I blame Dominic Cummings.

There are a lot more cars on the road today. I blame Dominic Cummings.

The air is not as crystal clear as it was a week ago, I blame Dominic Cummings.

No, not really. Boris needs the architect of Brexit to see it through to whatever end will unfold. The only reason that Cummings still has his job is 100% to do with Brexit.

That, however, is not the only reason that some soft-cheese ex-pat Brits (who voted Remain from their adopted European homes) are blaming the press for being the hard-cheese mouthpiece of disgruntled Lefties. They are just assumed to be Lefties, despite that 40+ Conservative back-benchers continue to demand the sacking of the 'career psychopath'.

Some of the more sensible ones understand that Cummings is a danger, whether or not you are a Brexiteer. Boris is too fucking dim to conduct the E.U. negotiants on his own, and nobody trusts him anymore in any case.

What a shambles.

  1. You're right, of course. So now think of it as an adventure, and see it through to the end. I needn't remind you, same as over 'ere.

    1. I - we - are forced to see it as an adventure and we are compelled to see it through to the end in any case. The end for some will be different to the end for others.

  2. I hear that the reasons Cummins gave for driving up north are to be enshrined as the Cummings and Goings Law.

  3. I think that you are wrong on so many counts. However, I am happy for others to have different views, and am more than willing to read them. As you know it's your blog and I am only a visitor. Take care!

  4. It is right and proper that Dom should go, he abused the very laws that he himself helped to create as a member of the Sage Committee. However, he will not be leaving or apologising, and Boris will not sack him. Boris can neither run the country himself nor negotiate Brexit without his righthand man.

    1. I found out today that part of the easing of lockdown rules means that you can have your cleaner, nanny or cook coming into your house, but not your parents. I wonder if this amendment was made following scientific advice and, if so, did the scientist go to Eton?

  5. No, he won't have gone to Eton, the clever ones don't.

    1. A few Prime Ministers would disagree with you about that.
