Outside my workshop this afternoon. Crystal clear to the extent that you could almost believe that your eyesight has been improved by 50%.
How funny that the worldwide diminution of pollution from cars, aeroplanes and industry has - for the first time in 100 years - produced an atmosphere so clean and oxygen-rich, just at the time when the people who need it the most cannot breathe without artificial aids.
It is almost cruel, but doesn't it make you glad to be alive? Will we return our dirty normal and still afford to exist?
I don'texpect in thelong run that anything will change.
ReplyDeleteThere will be change, but not in all areas. The economy will see to that.
DeleteI would like to think that things will change, but sadly I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteIt may change aspirations, which is a start.
DeleteLovely weather , might go out in the garden with a "dirty normal" . It's a cocktail I've just invented ...
ReplyDeleteWhat's the recipe?
DeleteMay us all learn something this lockdown
ReplyDeleteArrr.
DeleteI'm with John, but I'm afraid those shouting people who want sports bars and their roots touched up will prevail.
ReplyDeleteIt's up to the next generation now, and they will be carried along on the current like the rest of us.
DeleteIt is refreshing to be able to see far.. hopefully some people may be a little more longsighted after all this?
ReplyDeleteOn another note we have been enjoying the sight of the stars..no meteors last night, but we will try and catch them tonight.. supposed to be the best
I forgot about the meteors. Hopefully I'll remember tonight. We still have light pollution though.
DeleteSome will realise that they've not been spending nearly as much money on things that they've managed perfectly well without, but others will be of the mindset that because it could all end tomorrow, they may as well enjoy as much as possible while they can. So the journeys, smog, noise, will all resume.
ReplyDeleteSo long as they spend some money on me (and a few million others).
DeleteThe marketing people will see that all demand for consumer goods will return asap. It's interesting how the TV adverts have changed. It's taken them a couple of weeks but they're all very keen to reassure us they're doing everything they can to help...and to keep their profile up.
ReplyDeleteYes. My breakdown cover is due for renewal soon. They keep sending me tips for how to entertain myself during the lockdown without driving.
