I am reminded of my father, telling us when he was in the army ca. 1920 - 1935, he was issued two pieces of toilet paper per day. He thought his children used far too much of the stuff. I passed the story on to my children, that we were issued two pieces, etc. and they to theirs. And that's how rumors start.
A man I worked with years ago used to tell me that when he was in the (British) Army, WWII, and in the days of shiny loo paper, the were given three sheets. One up, one down, and one polish!
I just don’t understand this love of toilet paper ..... it would be well down on my list .... if the worst came to the worst, there are always leaves ! Love what the Spurs supporter said 🤣 XXXX
I remember the days of Izal toilet paper. Horrible stuff. We only had one bath and changed our underwear once a week then too. The modern paper is - how shall I put this - much more effective.

ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of the military austerity command: 'In the interests of economy, please use both sides of the paper'.

DeleteI liked the quip by the Spurs supporter who said he was ordering up supplies of Chelsea programmes.
