Green fingers

This is the only gardening tip you are ever likely to get from me. It may be the only one I am (almost)  qualified to give.

Plants like to be handled roughly, especially during potting at the seedling stage. They do much better if they are not mollycoddled.

I once briefly had a girlfriend who asked me to handle her roughly. I could not bring myself to do it.

I have never excelled at gardening.

    2. So she decided to show you and you ended up with a broken rib and she became a head gardener.

    3. No. I never saw her again and the girl who broke my ribs was an Israeli choreographer.

    5. Oh, I thought you remembered the story of the Israeli girl who broke my ribs.

    6. Well, yes I did, but I added the head gardener bit because I thought it was a good punchline to the story.
